Ranklate is a Shopify app that writes SEO content and translations for a store. It is operated by Lansco Agency (“we”). This policy explains what data the app collects when a merchant installs it, why, who else handles it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Store details: the store’s myshopify domain and Shopify id, the access scopes granted, the languages and markets enabled, and the install and uninstall dates.
- Store content the app reads with the scopes you grant: products, collections, pages, blog articles, metaobjects, menus, theme text, image alt text, and their existing translations.
- Staff details: when a staff member uses the app, Shopify shares their name, email address and Shopify user id. We keep them to show who started a job or edited a field.
- Content the app writes: SEO titles and descriptions, translations, their version history, and a log of each request to an AI model (what was sent, what came back, and how many tokens it used).
- Billing: your plan, its status, your credit balance and usage. Shopify bills you; we never see payment details.
- Technical data: the webhooks Shopify sends us and error reports.
The app does not ask for access to customers or orders and stores no data about your customers.
How we use it
Only to run the service: mirror your catalog, write and translate content, publish it to Shopify when you ask, charge credits for it, answer support requests and fix errors. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.
Who else handles it
- Shopify, the platform the app runs on and the party that bills you.
- Anthropic and OpenAI receive the content a request needs, for example a product’s title and description with your brand voice and glossary, and return the generated text. Under their API terms they do not use it to train their models. They may keep it for a limited time to monitor abuse, and may process it in the United States.
- Fly.io hosts the app and its database, and Upstash its job queue, both in the Frankfurt region.
- Sentry receives error reports. They name the store a request came from and identify the job that failed, but leave out its settings, such as keywords or brand voice, and request bodies, cookies and credentials.
How long we keep it
- AI request logs and job history: 90 days unless agreed otherwise. A log behind a saved version of a field stays with that version. The model’s full answer is cut down after 7 days.
- Webhook deliveries: 30 days after they are processed, or until the store’s data is erased.
- Content, version history, settings and the credit ledger: while the app is installed.
- After you uninstall, Shopify asks us 48 hours later to erase the store’s data, and we delete it from the database: store details, content, logs, credit records, webhook deliveries, and staff details not linked to another store using the app. We keep a note that the erasure was asked for (the store’s domain and id) for 30 days, and a record of changes our own staff made to your account, such as a credit grant, without any store content.
- Error reports, server logs, failed background jobs and database backups are not edited after the fact; they expire on their own schedule.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about your store or your staff account, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@ranklate.com. Requests Shopify forwards for your customers are answered automatically: we hold no customer data.
Changes
We will update this page when what we collect or who handles it changes, and change the date above.
